The screen mirroring feature lets you share your Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus screen on your TV, monitor or projector. This lets you play games, watch videos and movies on a far bigger screen than your phone's screen. You can also share photos on the big screen. We'll tell you how.

You first need to prepare your television set. How you set screen mirroring up depends on what type of TV you have.

How to Activate Screen Mirroring on Your Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus:

Samsung SMART TV

For a smart TV, select the 'Screen Mirroring' option using your remote's Source button. For an All-Share hub, change your TV's input to whichever one is using the All-Share HDMI cable (for example, Video 6). You can connect your Samsung Galaxy S8 smartphone to your TV and watch videos on a bigger screen. Just follow these steps. Option 1 – Miracast Adapter Obtain a Miracast Adapter like this one and plug it into the HDMI port on your TV and a power source. This is something that many TVs of other brands than Samsung will successfully support and you can use it with your Galaxy S8 or Galaxy S8 Plus. To test it, go back to the Quick Connect button from the Notification pane and select to Scan for nearby devices.

If you have a Samsung Smart TV, it's already set up to work with your Samsung Galaxy S8/S8 Plus. Check your Smart TV instructions to make sure it supports screen mirroring.

If it does, do the following.

• Step 1: Find and press the Source button on your TV remote.
• Step 2: Select Screen Mirroring. You will see a screen that states it is waiting for you to connect a device.
• Step 3: Go to Settings on your Samsung phone. Slide the slider and select Screen Mirroring under Connect and Share. Click on the TV to which you would like to connect. Once you do, you will see your smartphone's screen on the TV.

If your phone features the Quick Connect feature, follow these steps.

• Step 1: Turn on the TV and place your phone close to it.
• Step 2: Pull down your phone's notification panel and tap on Quick Connect.
• Step 3: It may ask you to update or enable the feature. Once you do, tap on Select for Nearby Devices and pair your TV to your smartphone.

Using a Samsung All-Share Hub

If the above steps do not work, you may need a Samsung All-Share Cast Hub. That is a compact and portable Wi-Fi display receiver that mirrors your phone screen on an HDTV and will work with any WiFi display capable device. It features a Wi-Fi display and an HDMI A cable out.

You will be able to connect the Hub to your TV with an HDMI cable. You may also be able to connect them by attaching them both to a single wireless network. Do that by going to Settings on your phone, searching for Screen Mirroring and tapping on it.

Using a hard-wired connection

The third way to connect your Samsung Galaxy S8 or S8 Plus is to use an MHL Adapter. This will mirror your device on your TV screen.

Make sure you get an adapter compatible with your phone. You need to connect your adapter to the phone, plug it into a power socket, and use an HDMI cable to connect the adapter to the TV's HDMI socket.

Once you do so, turn the TV display until you find the HDMI screen that matches what port you used to connect the cable.

These steps should help you enable screen monitoring on your TV. Enjoy your video games and movies on the 'big screen' as you use screen mirroring.
